Research

The research agenda of the Affordable Housing Initiative is focused on the development of new technologies to improve house performance, durability, and reduce construction costs. The primary technologies under investigation are a panelized construction system call Structural Engineered Panel or SEP; and an External Thermal and Moisture Management Systems (ETMMS). Coupled with a thoughtful heating, cooling, and ventilation system these systems result in a robust and energy efficient home.
